DRUNKEN FRUIT CHERRY VANILLA MANHATTAN
I’m back with another whiskey recipe. This time, I’m using Drunken Fruit Cherry Vanilla to put a twist on the classic Manhattan.
The Manhattan
If you’e not familiar, the Manhattan is a classic, spirit-forward cocktail that dates back to the 1800s. Although it’s traditionally made with rye whiskey and sometimes bourbon, I encourage you to play around and use whatever whiskey you like. I know there are some purists out there who would disagree. But I’m all about using what you have to make something you like. So go for it!
Also, it’s important to note that this cocktail is stirred and not shaken. That means that it is typically made in a mixing glass instead of a cocktail shaker. But if you don’t have mixing glass, not to worry. You can build the drink in the glass you plan to serve it in.
Drunken Fruit Cherry Vanilla
Drunken Fruit is organic fruit that is aged in a proprietary blend of alcohol. Not only is it delicious, but it’s also extremely versatile. It always makes a great addition to any cocktail. And this Manhattan is no different. I used about a teaspoon of the liquid from the Drunken Fruit Cherry Vanilla, also known as the dew, to add a bit of cherry flavor to the Manhattan. And to take things up another notch, I used the Drunken Fruit cherry pieces as a garnish.
