Hi, I’m Camille!

Okay, so boom.

I started my blog when I realized I wanted to go back to school. Education has always been an important part of my life and the classroom is one of my favorite places on earth, my home away from home. So naturally, I knew I eventually wanted to go back to get my Ph.D. But I also knew that getting an advanced degree would require a lot of writing. And after being out of school for almost a decade, I knew I would need to start brushing up on my writing skills ASAP. I always loved writing and needed to get into the habit of writing more consistently. So I thought, ‘What is something I could write about at length on a regular basis that I would not grow tired of?’

After a decade of living in New York City, I’ve always been that friend that can tell you where to eat, drink, and chill in the city. My friends love how I store random cocktail recipes in my memory banks and how much I know about spirits. Above all, they’re always so impressed by how even the smallest gatherings at my house become sophisticated soirees.

What “expert” advice do your friends turn to you for?

 And that’s when it hit me! I should write about cocktails!

So, it all came together in 2018 when I hit publish on my first post on The Cocktail Snob. Since then, I’ve worked with brands like Jameson, Perrier, and Absolut. I've hosted plenty of virtual mixology workshops. And I’ve introduced my audience to bars and lounges all over the city.

I’m motivated by the belief that it’s possible for everyone to create happy hour at home- no matter the size of their living room or their budget. And my hope is that, after reading my blog, you’ll be inspired to bring out your inner mixologist.
